Where has your journey taken you so far?
- Are you highly organised and confident coordinating people and deadlines?
- Do you enjoy practical food preparation and following clear instructions?
- Are you detail-focused and confident using Outlook, Word and Excel?
If you enjoy combining practical food work with planning and accurate record-keeping, then why not make our journey your journey?
Play an important part in our journey.
This is a fixed-term role of approximately six months, subject to confirmation of the anticipated start and end dates.
As a Product Quality Coordinator, you'll provide fixed-term cover within Technical Services, supporting routine and ad-hoc quality assessments and benchmarking of our Own Brand and Exclusive Brand products.
You’ll plan sessions, order or collect samples, track invoices and coordinate with colleagues. You’ll prepare and cook products to manufacturer instructions or an occasional straightforward recipe, then present them consistently to panellists. This is practical food preparation, not professional chef-level cooking.
You’ll record results electronically, produce clear reports and communicate outcomes. You’ll maintain the routine product assessment schedule and follow up product failures or non-conformances with Technical Managers for prompt resolution.
More about you
- You have basic food preparation or food-handling experience, are comfortable preparing and, where appropriate, tasting varied foods, and can follow written instructions and work hygienically.
- You are highly organised, able to plan and prioritise your own workload and confident coordinating activity with several colleagues.
- You have a good practical understanding of food hygiene, allergens and HACCP, can complete HACCP records accurately, recognise a deviation and escalate it promptly. A relevant food safety qualification would be advantageous, although appropriate training can be provided.
- You are comfortable using Outlook, Word and basic Excel for data entry, updating trackers and simple sorting or filtering.
- You communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, and are careful and dependable when labelling, timing, recording and reporting results.
- You are adaptable, calm when priorities change and able to commit to the full fixed-term assignment. Previous product quality assessment or sensory evaluation experience would be strongly preferred, although candidates with suitable food-preparation experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly will also be considered.
- You are comfortable working independently within established procedures whilst recognising when support or escalation is required.
