Transport Router

Bidfood are a great company to work for and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Router to become part of the transport department at our Lee Mill Depot.

The Transport Router Role

You’ll be dealing with drivers and several internal departments scheduling 700+ deliveries of food and non-food products to our customers in multiple locations throughout the day. The 60+ routes can vary on a day-to-day basis but there is a regular customer database already in place.

You’ll also be heavily involved in other transport functions such as ensuring legal, service and people obligations are met as well as supporting drivers and vehicles returning to the depot.

Transport routing and office support is a great stepping stone for anybody wanting to understand how transport operations function and work to provide efficiency improvement on a daily basis.

We need Transport Router to have:

• Experience planning multi-drop vehicle routes
• Good geographical knowledge of South West Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset
• Excellent administrative ability and customer service skills
• Ability to work under time pressure
• Drive, determination and motivation
• Strong relationship building and rapport building skills
• Attention to detail is essential
